My COVID Story is a fun new competition to share your experience during the pandemic in a new and exciting way. Explore your creative side and create an Augmented Reality (AR) experience/story about your time under COVID. Open to Australian School Students (K-12).

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) brings digital content to the real world. It uses technology to superimpose information (sounds, images, models and text) on the world we see. We want you to create an experience based on the theme of your time during COVID. This might be in relation to a new skill you have learned or how this time has been making you feel. The possibilities are endless.

  • The winning student in each age group will win a 2021 subscription to EducART Pro for themselves and their school.
  • The top 5 students' experiences in each age group will take home a published book with a full page feature of the winning experience plus 4 runners up from each age group will receive a quarter page feature.

Of course! COVID-19 has changed the way we live and learn. It has affected every aspect of our lives. We want to see what you’ve been doing during this time or what new and exciting thing you’ve discovered. Whether it’s been making bread or completing a 1000 piece puzzle, it’s time to share your experience digitally.
The ‘My COVID Story’ Competition is open to all Australian school students (K-12).
A panel of judges will independently review each experience and rate the experience based on: 1. Creativity: 25% 2. Theme: 25% 3. Effective use of AR: 25% 4. Effectiveness of storytelling: 25%
To submit your entry to the judges, simply select the green publish button once you have created your experience and wish to submit it. All entries must be published to your EducART account at the time of close (11th October 2020).
The EducART Pro software works with almost all smart phone and tablet devices running a minimum system of iOS 11 and Android 7.0 (Nougat).

Register above in your age group for a free trial of EducART, then download the EducART Pro app onto your preferred mobile or tablet device (available from Google Play and the App Store.)

Create your AR experience using the online tools and studio at and if you need help check out the how-to videos. Students can create their experience by using freely available 3D models, sounds and images found on the internet or create their own original work.

A target marker is a unique photo/logo/image that you have created for your experience. This is the visual cue to tell the software to start your experience on the screen.
This is an individual based competition. You are welcome to discuss entering with your teacher or school's IT team, but this is not necessary.
